Running Unopposed
I was informed by the City Clerk that the other candidate who had filed his Candidate Intention Statement to run for the District 5 seat did not submit nomination papers. This means that I will be the only candidate listed for district 5 on the ballot. There is still a period for a "Write in" candidate to submit their paperwork.
This should now give me more time to walk the neighborhoods and meet more of you and listen to what you have to say and how you think we can make Campbell better.
I look forward to serving you as your City Council member for District 5.

Submission Time
After spending the last 2 weeks collecting the signatures and doing some campaign housekeeping, having gathered the 30 votes for the nomination paperwork (you need 20) it was time to go submit everything to the City Clerk's office. Once again, the clerk's office took the time to meet with me and thoroughly review the submission before accepting it.

Sorabji announces self-funded campaign
"I am a big believer in campaign reform. I believe there are too many special interests who want to control a candidate or influence their vote. So, to be true to myself, I will not accept any donations and will try to run this campaign with my own funds."

It's official, "Qualified for ballot"
Below are the 200 words that will appear in the voter guide.
As progress comes to Campbell, we must preserve the charm, diversity, and sense of community that made it where my wife and I chose to raise our children 32 years ago. As we grow, I will work to ensure progress reflects residents’ concerns and protects the quality of life that lets families thrive safely.
Campbell is facing challenges of affordable housing, traffic congestion, homelessness and state mandated growth. Many young adults can no longer afford to build their lives here. Growth without associated infrastructure improvements impacts our quality of life and gives us less time to focus on our families.
I believe deeply in community service, and I’ve been fortunate to serve in many ways. I’m most proud of my 30 years as a Scout leader in Pack 333 and Troop 330, supporting families and helping guide youth into capable, confident, responsible citizens.
If elected, I will strive for a Campbell that is Caring, Accountable, sMarter, resPonsive, Better, grEener, equitabLe and Livable. If we all change things within our spheres of influence, we can change the world.

Paperwork Time!
I Just picked up the binder from the City Clerk's office with all the documents and instructions on getting things in order to submit everything for the nomination process.
Kudos to the City Clerk's office for a well done binder and taking the time to go over all the sections. This make the process easier for candidates, it certainly helped me back in 2018 when I knew nothing of what had to be done to get on the ballot.

Sorabji throws in his hat for the Campbell City Council Position (again)
This campaign is on behalf of all of you who wanted to make a difference in your community.
Ever see something wrong with government and say to yourself, if I were a council member I would change …… I have had that thought on and off over the past 30 years and decided to ACT on it in 2018 but that campaign did not end with me being elected, after skipping 2022 I decided to give it another shot. So here I am ready to do it again.
I walked into City Hall and filled out Form 501 the Candidate Intention Statement.
